NUS Muslimah Night 2012
Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“A man went to visit a brother of his in another village. Allah sent an angel to wait for him on the road. When the man came along, the angel asked him, ‘Where are you headed?’ He said, ‘I am going to visit a brother of mine who lives in this village.’ The angel asked, ‘Have you done him any favor (for which you are now seeking repayment)?’ He said, ‘No, I just love him for the sake of Allah.’ The angel told him, ‘I am a messenger to you from Allah, sent to tell you that He loves you as you love your brother for His sake.’”

Firstly, the girl in the blonde wearing like that, does it not attract attention to the males? With tight clothing and and with your flesh showing. Your pretty hair showing to everyone. That’s not what Islam taught us, that’s not how the Al Quran taught us and that is definitely not how Allah SWT told us how to wear.
Secondly, it’s true, wearing that the blonde lady wears does not make you all those things, but does it make you a muslim? You may not be a good muslim by covering everything too, but thats a step forward you’re taking trying to amend yourself.
And to the creator of these photos, a good person would create this and show the world, with a good intention trying to clear any doubts, but a better person, would advice another person regarding this. Advising is always better than criticizing. Hijabi or not, a muslim women is a muslim women, you both believe in the same thing. Rather than fight with each other, you might as well advise each other and share your knowledge about why wear a hijab.

I was sick of all of the degrading Hijabi VS Non Hijabi comparison pictures, so I decided to make a more respectable version.-Laila Best (SalamSeeker)

AMEN.

Its still shit. This is only based off of your understanding and interpretation. You really wanna be respectful?
Stop making these things period.

I want to say something to this too, I’m happy that the blonde lady isn’t slut-shamed, that’s nice to see. However the lady in the black abaya + hijab is portrayed as Muslimah who dresses “properly”, which means that if you don’t wear what she wears you’re not dressing “properly” & you’re not pleasing Allah, which is incorrect since there are various of interpretations about this, however I believe the people who like/reblogged this (without adding something contrary to the above) are agreeing with this picture. Also I don’t see any point in making such an illustration, but that’s just my opinion. Allahu alim.

I just hate these things in general. It’s always a non-jabi vs hijabi, not taking into accounts things such as culture, environment etc. No two Muslimahs are going through the same thing and no two are the same.

I feel that I’ve been thinking a lot about what people say about the way I dress. When they see me in a flare skirt, they say it doesn’t suit me cause it makes me look fat. Then it hit me, why I’m wearing, is not to please anyone but Allah SWT and I do not want to look pretty for the society. Looks like I’m on a hunt to buy loooooose tops! ^^
